Quote from Klutch :full set is $430USD

I always find it funny how people will spend so much on plastic with a brand name attached to it. I've machined up bushes from rod billets for mates cars, usually costs less than $2.50 per bush.

I think you seriously need to seek professional help for your paranoia. You seem to be the type of person that believes the person in front of them is following them.

I asked my wife for a little oral relief last night. "What! You want me to suck you off?" I said: "No, just shut the feck up for five minutes."

Could be a carbon build-up on the starter solenoid contacts, my 4x4 does it all the time. I keep a short length of 12rms to tap the solenoid when it fails to work. (far too lazy to rebuild the unit again).

My Grandmother used to own a 440 RT Charger back in the 70's. She only sold it 'cause it didn't have power steering.

It is usually for high power speaker inputs. In the case of older car audio some head units had no RCA outputs so amp makers had inputs from the speaker cables (usually wired in parallel to the speakers). The amp then took the low frequency from the stereo signal and converted to low pass mono for the sub.

Best thing I did this year was buy a house, got sick of wasting money renting. Managed to get a place 40k NZD under rateable value. It needs work, but that ok I'm an active relaxer. I have to keep busy to unwind after dealing with semi retarded minions (and customers) at work.

If you send me your existing steering wheel and a g27 I'll happily make it work. Spin the spline out of the factory wheel, machine up an adapter boss for the g27 weld the spline to the boss and your sorted.

Quote from Chupacabras84 :First time I am seeing something like this and I have to say, this is a freakin great idea.

The silver cylinder is a pneumatic actuator pod. When the driver activates the pod, the bar holding the chain wheel with a rubber friction drive (driven by contact with the tyre sidewall) is pulled via pivoting linkage causing the chains to rotate. Speed is the factor here, too slow and the chains will not have enough centripetal force to reach far enough under the driving wheels, too fast and catastrophic tyre failure is possible. Clever idea but to many variables for my liking. (chains dragging on the road when not in use with the possibility of a chain straying under the wheel at speed).

+1 Had one, regret ever selling it. Pulled many a Jeep out of places the Niva would cruise through

Got a 4 Runner now, absolute rubbish in comparison.

Quote from mythdat :What's your point? If anything that proves just how tiny the tsunami risk is.

Just like nuclear power, the risk maybe tiny. But would you take that risk knowing what might happen?

Quote from mythdat :No, there will never be a tsunami in England because it's shielded by Ireland (thanks Ireland, by the way). Nor will there be an earthquake or any other major tectonic event.

You're kinda trampling all over your own argument there. You're right, England is known for its green fields and rolling landscapes. Sellafield is in the locality of one of the most spectacular parts of England, and has been for the past 55 years - and the presence of the plant hasn't done a damn thing to degrade the beauty of the countryside over those decades. What it has done is provide vast amounts of economical, relatively clean energy whilst singlehandly reconstucting a local economy that was left in ruins by the fall of mining.

Quote from Klutch :I fail to see how hitting a tree at 150kph is any different to hitting a car?

I've seen a couple crashes with streetcars that had cages. Im willing to bet it certainly benefited them. Especially in the event of a roll over.(Obviously)
I'll be getting my next car caged.

Its like with anything...don't cheap out.
$150 bolt in cages aren't CAMS approved for a reason.

Cars move on impact absorbing force, trees usually don't.

Cages are fine IF you have a helmet and properly tightened harness. Steel tubes are not very forgiving to the human head when you ragdoll through the cabin of an overturning vehicle.
